A graduate of Dallas Theological Seminary, John’s ministry experience includes twelve years serving as a staff pastor, after which he transitioned to a position with a nationally recognized bank consulting firm where he served as a managing partner. Prior to his retirement from the consulting firm, he continued to serve as a non-staff elder of his church for an additional twenty years. During that time, John learned to balance his family and his career while maintaining an active personal ministry. Having insights both from the perspective of a pastor as well as working in a secular job while maintain a personal ministry, John relates well to the challenges facing believers as they navigate life as a committed follower of Christ.

In addition to his work as an elder of his church, his ministry experience includes co-founding a financial teaching and counseling ministry, initiating and leading a discipleship ministry, and chairing the board of an inner-city ministry.

His focus throughout his ministry life has been on challenging believers to apply the truths and principles of Scripture to their everyday lives, including discovering how God can use them to advance the cause of his kingdom.

John and his wife Linda have supported each other in their individual ministries over the years. They have two adult children and are proud grandparents to one granddaughter.
